Anchored Embodiment

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you visit anchoredembodiment.com, watch my free Masterclass, apply for or take my course, or contact me, and what I do with it. I take privacy seriously: it is built into how the course itself runs.

1Who I Am

I am Sophia Landau, a Self Holding Method™ practitioner, trading as Anchored Embodiment. I am the "data controller" for your information, which means I decide how it is used and I am responsible for looking after it.

Contact: [email protected]
Post: Sophia Landau, 14350 60th Street North, Suite 64949, Clearwater, Florida 33760, USA

2What I Collect

  • When you register for the Masterclass: your name and email address, and your phone number. I also record how much of the video you watch, because the application form opens after 5 minutes.
  • When you apply: your answers on the application form, which help us both decide whether the course is right for you. Some questions ask about your health and wellbeing, for example whether you are currently in crisis.
  • When you pay: your name, email address, country and what you bought. Card details are handled by Stripe, my payment provider. I never see or store your full card number.
  • When you start the course: your Client Agreement (the boxes you tick, with the date and time), your course login and which classes you have opened.
  • When you use a Question and Sharing form: what you choose to write. This may include personal or emotional matters, or information about your health or wellbeing.
  • When you book or attend a call: your name, email address and the time you booked. Calls take place on Zoom, which automatically creates a written transcript of the call. Calls are not video recorded.
  • When you message me: emails, and messages through Instagram or Facebook (including a comment keyword that sends you a free resource), with your username and any email address you give me.
  • Cookies: my web pages use cookies and similar technology so that forms, video and login work, and to count visits.

3Your Privacy in the Course

During classes, students have no camera or microphone, and questions are answered anonymously. When I answer a question in a class Q&A Guide, I never name the person who asked it. With your separate, optional permission, I may also use what you share, anonymously, in general information about students' experiences of the course.

4Why I Use It, and on What Basis

  • To provide the course you have paid for (the course, emails, login, certificate). Basis: our contract.
  • To run the Masterclass, answer applications and follow up after you register. Basis: my legitimate interest in running my business, in ways you would expect.
  • To send you occasional emails about my work. Basis: your consent, or our existing contact. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
  • Health or wellbeing information you share on the application form or a Question and Sharing form. Basis: your explicit consent, which you give when you submit it. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • To keep financial records. Basis: legal obligation (tax law).

I do not sell your information. My application form works automatically: based on your answers, it tells you, on screen or by email, whether the course is likely to be right for you at this time. If you think the result is wrong, or you would like me to look at your application myself, email [email protected] and I will review it personally.

5Who Else Handles It

I use trusted services that process information for me, under contracts that require them to keep it secure:

  • HighLevel (website, forms, email, course portal)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Zoom and Google Calendar (calls and bookings)
  • Wistia (video)
  • ManyChat and Meta (Instagram and Facebook messages)
  • Namecheap (email hosting)
  • the VHM tech team, who help set up and maintain my systems
  • my accountant, for financial records

Some of these services are based in the United States. If your information is transferred outside the UK or the European Economic Area, it is protected by recognized safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, or standard contractual clauses.

6How Long I Keep It

  • If you register or apply but do not join: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.
  • If you join the course: for the length of your access (the course plus 12 months), then up to 1 year more in case you have questions.
  • Question and Sharing form submissions: deleted, or stripped of anything that identifies you, within 6 months of the end of your course.
  • Call transcripts: deleted within 6 months of the call.
  • Payment and accounting records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.

7Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • see the information I hold about you;
  • have it corrected or deleted;
  • limit or object to how I use it;
  • receive a copy to take elsewhere;
  • ask me to review personally any decision made automatically, such as the result of your application;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how I handle your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you live in the EU, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

8Age

My course and Masterclass are for adults aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, I will let current students know by email.
